Spent the day with my Papa at the Getty Museum yesterday. I've only once stepped in the spacious compound back in 1998. Try hard as I may then to take interest on anything painted or sculpted, the only part I remember truly shedding excitement about to this day was the food court. However, after (obligatorily) burying my nose in an Art History text book for university, my experience of the museum yesterday was much more satisfying.
In addition, when it finally came for lunch the result was less than spectacular than how I remembered it to be over a decade ago, thus making the museum experience that much more formidable. I ordered a veggie wrap which looked appetizing but I could barely get through the first bite with how salty it was! I'm not teasing when I say it tasted like sea water. Good thing I ordered carrot cake as back up. ;)
Allan Peters concocts the Poster-On-A-Stick⢠campaign for the Minnesota State Fair. This is just an example of one of the many times I want to hit myself over the head for not having thought about this earlier. It's simple, cute and pure genius!

Willy Verginer is an Italian sculptor using the traditional wood carving method. His contemporary style is a not only refreshing but proves to be far from the kitschy lodge, outback or Native American references we easily make when we imagine wood carving.

I have landed in Los Angeles and I've pretty much done what I intended to do during my stay here which is to eat, shop, sleep and repeat. I've made a rather large dent on my credit card and ate close to 15,000 calories for the fourth of July weekend. I have realized I can't possibly live here if I know what's good for my wallet and my love handles. ;) I miss public transit and the walking back home...sort of.
My sister discovered this cute navy dress with the floral lace detailing on the hem during our trip to Forever 21. We thought it was the last one and I was just about to give up until the woman in front of us in line pointed out the dress right behind us. You can only imagine the look on my face! I've never run over to a dress faster than I did then.
